ELECTRODES FOR CUTTING
AND PIERCING OF ALL FERROUS METALS
Cutting electrodes are used for cutting and gouging of all type of ferrous metals. The Cutting process involves maintaining a constant current. Cutting rods are plunged into metal by arcs created by poles. Due to high heat, the metal melts, and gets cut into separate pieces without much wastage of metals.
Cutting rods are employed most often in the metal industry. They are used to cut metal plates, sheets, and bars. They can also be used to cut steel pipes, channels, and other shapes.
Cutting and piercing of steel, cast iron, aluminum, copper, bronze, nickel alloys, dismantling of structures on site, cutting of stainless steel or stainless steel-clad plates, burning rivets, cutting out unwanted metal in foundry casting.
Mark the area to be cut or pierced, hold the electrode at an angle of 450 to the job and use a sawing motion to cut. The high arc-force produced by the electrode and the applied pressure ensure rapid cutting. For piercing, position the
Electrode perpendicular to the part, strike the arc and apply push in and pull out motion till the part is pierced.
